Nature's Working for us

As I’ve been glazing and firing these coasters, I’ve been thinking about how nature is always silently helping us.  Trees and plants slowly breathe balance back into our world. While I press cedar branches and smell their oils, I am reminded that not only do these majestic trees shade my property, they are also gently pulling carbon from the air and tucking it away in their roots, trunks, and leaves, holding it there for years. Imagine, even the cedar wood we used for our garden beds continues to store that carbon long after it’s shaped into something new.

Trees and plants are important to me; they care for us in quiet ways.  They shade our homes, helping us use less energy to stay cool in the summer.  They slow down cold winter winds, helping us stay warm in the winter. Let this be a reminder that small, steady acts like planting a tree or tending your garden can have lasting ripples of good.  May that be a sense of peace or to support this planet we call home, to me, it's all a win.
